Bhavana was born on 6 June 1986 and she is a South Indian actress who acts in Malayalam and Tamil movies. She made her debut in Kamal's Nammal which won her critical acclaim and various honours, including the State award.
Bhavana is from Thrissur and her real name is Karthika. Bhavana is the daughter of Asst. Cinematographer, G.Balachandran Menon and Pushpa. She has one brother named Jayaddev currently living in Vancouver, Canada.
Bhavana and R Madhavan is again acting together in a new movie. There were acted together in two films earlier and now they wanted to test their successfull formula again in this new film.
Bhavana is busy wrapping up the shooting of her new film Rameshwaram and her first Telugu release. The latter film's highlight is a rape scene on the beach. After completing these two films, she will return to Tamil cinema to star as Madhavan's heroine yet again.
Meanwhile, it looks like Madhavan is only too happy to have Bhavana as his co-star in so many films in such a short space of time - something he is not known for doing.
Very recently, Tamil actress Bhavana had the experience of a rape attempt by villain Ashish Vidyarthi for her Telugu film 'Ontari'. The film will be released simultaneously in Tamil too. Bhavana had returned to the shoot after a hectic schedule in Srilanka for the movie 'Vaazhthukal', had to shoot without a break for this Telugu movie.
The scene was shot on the beaches of Vishakapatnam. The goons of a local MLA chase her on the shores and attempt to rape her. When local people heard that an 'attempted rape' scene is going to be filmed on their shores, that too with Bhavana, they were more than eager to turn up and witness it. They didn't stop with witnessing alone. See Actress bhavana in mini-skirt.

The play of human emotions, pentup fury and a brother's undying belief in Veyyil fetched director Vasanthabalan critical and commercial acclaim. The hot news is that the movie has been selected for screening in the Tous les Cinemaz Du Mond section of the acclaimed Cannes Film Festival (19 May). Thrilled to be bestowed such an international honour, an elated Vasanthabalan, says, 'I owe it all to producer Shankar. The industry needs the likes of him, who encourage new talents and fresh ideas without compromising on the quality.' Was he sure of the audience verdict during the making of the movie? 'The subject was universal, the happening could be related in every house. The stark truth is that there is a loser in every family. It is what I portrayed doing my best to keep it simple laced with realism.' Of the autobiographical touch in the whole frame, Vasanthabalan said the influence stemmed from the few incidents in his life. 'I was considered a loser in many quarters when my maiden directorial venture Album came a cropper at the box office, That was when I kicked myself to prove my mettle at the next opportunity. My mentor Shankar came to my rescue and the rest is history.' Dedicating Veyyil's success to the entire Tamil film industry, Vasanthabalan adds, I worked on the script for over an year and half. Every minute detail was trashed out before the plunge. A great actor like Pasupathy transported my ideas to a visual delight. You have seen the support of Bharath and Bhavana.' What Shankar had to say after the shoot? 'Once I narrated the script he gave the go-ahead. He saw the double positive and saw parallel with an Iranian film. It left me speechless. I had always desired to make movies on human emotions. Till now, had relied on my conviction and hope to tread the same path. My forthcoming film would be for Oscar Ravichandran.' The soft-spoken director feels he is more matured and confident after the Veyyil experience. For him, the real heroes in a movie are the story and screenplay. I see failure as a stepping stone to success.'
